Pick Up A Painted Quilt Block Trail Map

WACA has developed a Painted Quilt Block trail in the Winchester area. A printed map can be found at local businesses in the La Grange, Giddings, and Smithville.  In Winchester maps can be found on the side porch of Zilss Hall and at Murphy's Steakhouse. I took a class after learning about the trail during the Houston International Quilt Show. I have not had that much fun creating something in a very long time! While I can sew, I definitely cannot paint... The instructions and materials provided during the class enabled me to create a beautiful custom quilt block that I proudly hang in my sewing studio.

My daughter and I have attended two barn quilt classes. My daughter (a 30-something) has really gotten into the planning and painting.
The ladies who guide you in the class are wonderful! So supportive, and they help make it a fun experience!
I highly recommend taking a class!

Purchased one from the wall at Murphy's last night (first visit to Murphy's, will be back) Hummingbird will be place on our porch at home in Austin. Already loved visiting Smithville and now will always add a stop in Winchester.
